Morning Thoughts for a New Year

Watching the play of my thoughts on the screen of my mind I find myself in a constant state of flux of both activity and a place of silent awareness.

My morning thoughts

When I first became aware of thought being the subtle energy that translates itself into what we term our physical reality, I was quite relieved to know that I was not a victim and that I actually could change my life story by recognizing my patterns of beliefs and conditioning. Simple to say, but it is a process that takes real perseverance and commitment. Is it hard, yes, it can be hard…at first.

Recognizing our Patternings

First comes the recognition of our patterns of beliefs that no longer serve us, and then the process of letting go if we choose. This can be hard or maybe even easy, it depends on us. Like anything in life, when we first learn something new like taking our first steps as a child we struggle to find our balance, and yet, still we may wobble, stumble, and fall. As we stay committed and with some help, we are able to stand and walk we become aware of a totally different world view. This is also true when we begin to recognize the beliefs we hold on to that block us from experiencing the world around us with more clarity and love that unifies us instead of dividing us.

A world of appearences

The beauty is the appearance of a world of individual objects is just that, an appearance. Through our own observation, we are aware of the impermanence of the world around us that seems to be in constant change.  All of which is created from and out of the mind. Its perfection is in its seeming imperfection. That may not make sense, but when you really think about it, this world of dreams is governed by what we think of as the law of opposites. If we think a little further about our systems within our societies we are aware we have the individual choice, but to maintain a sense of order we have created laws that govern some of our choices creating boundaries that are supposed to in effect be put in place to establish conformity in which we live our lives.

So, where am I going with all this?  Could it not be true that the very energy of Consciousness itself had set for itself perimeters in which to know and experience itself? Consciousness/Awareness limiting itself being a world within itself set or imposed upon itself it’s own self-organized, self-imposed laws/boundaries in which to experience itself. I am in awe of the pure power and force prior to the manifestation of particles and the building blocks of life which is so beyond my conception, yet can be realized through the energetic self-created structure of form within the supposed activity of and as consciousness in infinite expression just through self-observation.

The world of Opposites

Going back to the world of opposites. So, it is in this 4-D world the experience of experience is measured by our thoughts in a time/space continuum. All of which is contained within Awareness. Wherever our attention is focused we build all kinds of stories in our minds to perpetuate and keep our mental meanderings in a state of excitement.  Because we are so deep in the belief of being the character in this dreamed world, we continue to identify being just that, with all our thoughts and all of the energetic impressions resulting from our experiences as perceived. It is only when we can periodically withdraw our attention allowing the mind to rest can we begin to see with more clarity that we are more than a bundle of energetic impressions, thus becoming more aware that we are the Awareness in which our stories are seen. Without awareness, nothing is seen.

So, it would seem to me, that all of this is taking place within the Awareness of that first-born awareness as presence.  In these particular times, we are more aware of the appearance of the many conflicts and divisions, and as well, a call for unity, all within the fabric of our Being-ness expressed individually and collectively. It appears we all have contributed to this unfolding phenomenon. Maybe, hopefully, as we become more heart-centered, those spaces that seem to divide us will no longer be recognized as being empty, creating the illusion of separateness, but recognized as being full…full of love, that very love that unifies and connects us…that very love at our very core that is us…how beautiful is that… By the way, when I write, I am aware as I capture my thoughts and the message that comes through and translate into words that I will look back on them hopefully with more clarity, deeper insight, and love. Of course, they are just thoughts… >>> Looking out my kitchen window I see the Sun peeking through the clouds, a grand good morning to us all.

I am a mother of 3 grown boys, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. I have been practicing meditation for over 40 years and started teaching meditation practices many years ago with the AMS in Las Vegas, NV. I could not imagine what life would have been like for me if I had not had the blessing of both the teachings and practices imparted to me.
