Kenton is a tenured professor and the head of the Graduate Lighting Design Program for University of Tennessee’s Department of Theatre. He has taught over 100 master classes at more than 40 universities as well as workshops abroad in Germany, The Czech Republic, Vietnam, Austria, Mexico, France, Wales, India, and Holland. He is the owner/creator of Yeagerlabs, a company specializing in innovative ways of teaching theatre design and production in the classroom. As a theatre artist he has designed, produced or directed more than 700 productions for Theatre, Dance, Music, Industrials, Corporate Events, Festivals, Architecture, and Touring Productions both nationally and internationally. Foundational to all of his creative work and his teaching are his meditation and mindfulness practices. He is a past president of the American Meditation Society where he also served as the Director of Teacher Training for five years. He is an AMS certified advanced practices meditation teacher, head of the UT Mindfulness Community of Scholars, and is faculty advisor to the UT Mindfulness and Meditation Club. He has been an active meditation teacher for the past ten years teaching, for AMS, UT, and personally.
