I was raised a Catholic. 12 years of Catholic school.
I was always fascinated by the church. I studied different religions, my interest started mainly because the Girl Scout leader took us to different religious services.
In 7th grade I went to a nunnery for summer break. I loved the time spent in vespers. The silence! I did not experience that silence growing up. That’s another long story.
I loved the novices, so calm and dedicated. But…boys were in my mind. I had a boyfriend, and snuck out at night, from the nun’s home, to be with him. So…not really for me.
I took a test at the cathedral in downtown Cincinnati. A big deal, lots of memorizing. I had to learn all about the Bible and Catholic traditions and rules.
I have always been drawn to the spiritual.
Since I grew up with lots of symbols, I was always fascinated with the images of the Master’s. I consider myself eclectic when it comes to religion/spirituality.
My job transferred us around the country, so I had little time for my spirit.
When my parents died we moved back to Indiana, where my husband was from. I was introduced to a Gururaj teacher by my sister/friend in 1989.
I learned MSP over the next 6 months. I said I was meditating twice a day, but it wasn’t true. Then. I had lots locked up inside, and with my parents death, it was ready to surface. And it did.
When I started going to courses, I was hooked, everything GR said rang with truth to me. Things I believed all my life were being said by this Master, I was home.
I worked on my techniques, attended course’s and read and listened to what GR taught. I found my true self.
This path is not for everyone. I’m glad it found me, Namaste’.
